This poster was produced to promote the 5/22/59 issue of Shukan Yomiuri Sports magazine. A beautiful 6" x 8" color photo of Masaichi Kaneda, Japan's greatest all time pitcher (400 wins, 4,490 strikeouts) appears on the left side. This image was used as the magazine's cover photo. The remainder of the poster lists feature articles about Shigeo Nagashima, Tetsuharu Kawakami and others. The poster was probably designed for display in a book store or train station. Today, it would make an attractive wall display. It was folded in half by the manufacturer at the time of production.
