As is the case with the previous three lots, this is a postcard sized, blank backed card which was most probably produced to honor the Giants' 1953 Japan Tour. It was apparently a second prize winner card on a display sheet. Wes
Westrum was a catcher for the New York Giants for 11 seasons (1947-1957). He accompanied the Giants on their 14 game 1953 Tour of Japan. During the Tour, he appeared in 11 games, batting .265. This is one of only two examples
known of this card. The Japanese text at the bottom reads, "New York Giants Wes Westrum catcher".
Size: 3 1/2" x 5 1/8"
Condition: Ex/Mt corners, but significant creasing in the lower right corner.
