Joe DiMaggio was a member of the U.S. Major League All Star team that toured Japan following the 1951 season. The American team cruised to a record of 13-1-2 during the Tour. DiMaggio batted .296 with two home runs. His performance was eclipsed by Ferris Fain's .417 mark, as well as brother Dom's .319 average. However, during the Tour, Joe DiMaggio was truly the star of the show as far as the Japanese crowds were concerned. Unsurprisingly, Joe DiMaggio was the only U.S. player included in the JCM 83 set. The Hiya set is most often seen as an uncut, 10 card sheet. Usually, the DiMaggio card is seen in lower grades, as the card was originally positioned at the upper left corner, often resulting in considerable damage to the upper left corner and left border. This card is in nicer condition than most in that respect. Additionally, the two handcut borders (upper right and lower) are cut exceptionally wide and the dividing lines between cards on the sheet are visible, making it more valuable than a card with thinner cuts made within those lines.

Size: 1 15/32" x 3"

Condition: Would be Ex to Ex/Mt but exhibits minor foxing on the reverse.
