Airplane diecut menko have always been highly popular among collectors of vintage Japanese baseball cards, especially for their unique, colorful, highly artistic design. The cards featured in this lot are as follows: (top row, left to right) Atsushi Aramaki (HOF) Rookie Card, Katsumi Shiraishi (HOF), (second row, left to right) Kikuji Hirayama, Shozo Fujita (previously unknown), Yoshio Tenpo, Shinichiro Inoue, Junji Nakatani. Shozo Fujita was the manager of the Hosei University team from 1941 to 1949. He joined Japan Pro Baseball as manager as the Kintetsu Pearls in 1950, where he served as manager through the 1952 season. This is the only known example of the only known Shozo Fujita card ever produced.
