This is the first complete set we have ever seen of this issue, either in uncut sheet form, or as individual cards. These small cards were originally included as the cardboard centerfold of an unknown magazine. The only other examples from this set that we have ever seen are on an uncut sheet which is identical to the bottom half of this sheet. For the past 15 years, we had thought that the bottom half constituted the complete set! Now, we find that we are wrong. That shows you how rare this set is! This 120 card set may be the largest set from the 1950s. The cards feature blue headshots of 240 players back to back. Player name, position and team are printed in Japanese text below the player image. One side of each card contains green ink, while the other side contains red ink. The top and bottom borders have tabs. We have no idea why the tabs exist, but we assume that the cards are to be used in a game. A whopping 26 Japan Hall of Famers are included in this set--Victor Starffin, Masaichi Kaneda, Tetsuharu Kawakami, Wally Yonamine, Takehiko Bessho, Hideo Fujimoto, Hiroshi Nakao, Shigeru Chiba, Noboru Aota, Shigeru Sugishita, Michio Nishizawa, Fumio Fujimura, Shigeru Makino (Rookie), Juzo Sanada, Kenjiro Tamiya, Katsumi Shiraishi, Yasuyuki Iwamoto, Jiro Noguchi, Atsushi Aramaki, Kaoru Betto, Yukio Nishimoto, Shosei Go, Hiroshi Oshita, Kazuto Tsuruoka, Tokuji Iida and Ryohei Hasegawa. Also a rookie card of Hawaiian, Jun Hirota.

Size: Each card is 5/8" x 1 5/8". The sheet is 10 1/4" x 14 1/2".

Condition: The uncut sheet has damage at each edge, along with yellowing and foxing that affects all cards in the top and bottom row and several others. Two commons have the heads cut out. However, many cards would be Nm/Mt if cut from the sheet including Yonamine and Kaneda. Starffin exhibits a dot of foxing at lower left
