This card was part of a 48 card set originally issued by King magazine in 12 different four card panels as a furoku (bonus item). Thus, all single cards are, by definition, hand cut from a sheet. The card features an image of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig at a rodeo during a barnstorming tour, with Ruth waving his hat to the crowd. The two played against each other on separate teams, called the "Bustin Babe's" and "Larrupin Lou's". Although this famous image was photographed in 1928, the card was actually produced in 1929.

One thing to note is that a number of the other examples graded to date by PSA and SGC are undersized, and this fact was not realized by the grader in his/her determination of the grade. Most likely, those examples were trimmed down in hopes of receiving a higher grade. A full sized JBR 67 card must include the broken line borders at the left and top edges. For this reason, JBR 67 cards are a perfect example of the motto, "Buy the card....not the holder." As you can see, this example contains full borders on all four sides.

SGC has graded 19 examples of the JBR 67 Ruth/Gehrig card. Only one other example has been graded SGC 5.5 (hand cut), with only two others graded higher (both SGC 6 hand cut). All JBR 67 single cards in existence were hand cut from four card panels.

Size: 2 1/8" x 2 7/8"

Condition: SGC 5.5 (Ex+) Hand cut with full borders.
