The front of this fan is identical to Lot 121 of Auction 68. However, the reverse side has safety tips for crossing the road printed on the back! The Auction 68 version was the first example of this fan that we had ever seen. This one is the first to have this variation that we know of.

We have seen fans from other years that must have come from the same manufacturer as this fan, since the text font and the image of HOFer Yoshio Yoshida are identical among issues. The players depicted on this fan are (l to r) Yoshio Yoshida (HOF), Kazuhisa Inao (HOF), Shigeo Nagashima (HOF), Kiyoshi Doi and Masaichi Kaneda (HOF). The uniform that Yoshida is wearing was not worn by Tigers players after 1953. The Swallows uniform that Kaneda is wearing was used from 1955 to 1959. Inao's uniform dates from the period 1954-1959. The dates for uniforms worn by Nagashima and Doi cannot be pinpointed from the images on the fan. Based on the fact that Nagashima's rookie year was 1958, we would imagine that the fan was most likely produced in 1958, 1959, or 1960, but we cannot be sure.
