On November 7, 1931 a team of U.S. Major League All-Stars faced the All Japan team in the first of 17 games. The U.S. team featured future Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove, Frankie Frisch, Mickey Cochrane, Al Simmons, Rabbit Maranville and George Kelly, along with future Japan Hall of Fame member, Lefty O'Doul. Not surprisingly, the U.S. team was victorious in all seventeen contests.
