Hiroshi Oshita was one of the very best hitters of the early postwar era. Famous for his blue bat, Oshita was named to eight Best 9 teams and batted .303 for his career. His many heroics led to the production of much memorabilia bearing his likeness. One of those items is the plate offered here, produced by YMK China.

Oshita is seen here wearing his Toei Flyers uniform next to his facsimile autograph. That style of uniform was worn only during the 1948 and 1949 seasons. Unfortunately, the artist did not choose to color the bat blue. The piece is unique to the hobby. We have never seen another example.
