Jackie Tobin was the younger brother of better known major league player, Jim "Abba Dabba" Tobin. After attending St. Mary's College in California, Jackie Tobin, who played all over the diamond, signed with the Boston Red Sox, making his major league debut in 1945, batting .252 in 84 games. He never again appeared in the major leagues, spending most of his career in the Pacific Coast League. As a member of the San Francisco Seals, he accompanied the team on their 1949 Japan Tour, batting .353. No major league cards were produced of Tobin, although several cards depicting Tobin were produced in Japan in honor of the Tour.
