The set is listed in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, Second Vintage Edition with a scarcity factor of R4, indicating that ten or fewer copies of each card in the set are known. The original "Mr. Baseball", Shigeo Nagashima transcends the sport in Japan. He is truly a cultural icon. He and Sadaharu Oh formed the nucleus of the Yomiuri Giants V9 championship teams of the 1960s and early 70s. Nagashima won an incredible five Central League MVP awards. No wonder he is far and away the most popular player in the history of Japanese baseball.
