After the 1978 MLB season, the Cincinnati Reds toured Japan, playing 17 games against Japan Pro Baseball opposition. Tickets to this series of games have always been particularly popular because of the image of Pete Rose that graces all 1978 Tour tickets. The ticket offered here was used for the game of October 29, 1978. That day, in front of a whopping crowd of 50,000 at Korakuen Stadium, the Reds won 5-2 over the Yomiuri Giants. Tom Hume beat Giants star Shigeru Kobayashi. Johnny Bench hit the first of his 9 home runs during this 17 game series. The Reds went 14-2-1 during their stay in Japan.
