This card was originally a 2nd prize winner on a display sheet. A glue mark is found on the blank back, as is the case of all second and third prize winner cards from any Japanese display sheet. The card was produced to commemorate
the 1953 Ed Lopat All Star Tour of Japan. This is only the second example of this card that we have seen. Lopat started three times for the U.S. All Stars during the Tour bearing his name, going 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA. Two of the games were
15-1 and 10-0 laughers.
