When we acquired the previous lot (Lot 105), we found the item offered here inside. Over the years, we have sold several examples of that particular 1931 Tour program, but never before have we seen this bonus item. It doesn't have staple holes, so it must have been folded and included as a loose item in the center of the program. The insert is folded in quarters, and fits perfectly within the program. The text contains the same title that appears on the front of the program, but also includes the text "furoku" (bonus).

We have checked other auction house websites, and we cannot find this item having ever been offered at auction in the past. Therefore, we believe that every person who has previously acquired the program is still missing this furoku! Due to its extreme rarity, we have decided to offer the furoku separately from the program itself.

One side of the furoku contains a large 1931 All Star Team photo which includes U.S. Baseball Hall of Fame members Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove, George Kelly, Rabbit Maranville, Mickey Cochrane, Frankie Frisch and Al Simmons, plus Japan HOFer Lefty O'Doul. At lower right, listed in Japanese, are the U.S. Team player names and uniform numbers. There are blank spaces in which the owner can enter similar information for the Japanese opponents. The other side is a scorecard.

Size: 9 7/8" x 10 1/4"

Condition: The item has a vertical fold and a horizontal fold all the way across. We believe that the folds were originally produced by the manufacturer for insertion in the program. Overall condition--Good.
