JGA 21 playing cards are unique. The fronts of the 54 card set include the player name, team, batting and pitching hand, position uniform number and team flag, along with the playing card and player photo. This card depicts world home run king, Sadaharu Oh during his third year with the Yomiuri Giants. Oh is rightfully pictured on the king of clubs card in this card deck. What other card would be so fitting?

Actually, Shonen Magazine was quite prescient in giving Oh such an important position in the deck. By the end of the 1961 season, he had hit only 37 homers in his career and had never batted above .270! However, in 1962, Oh began his unprecedented string of 13 consecutive years in which he led the Central League in home runs, and also began his run of 18 consecutive Central League Best 9 awards.

Only four JGA 21 Sadaharu Oh cards have ever been submitted to third party graders. PSA has graded three copies (PSA 1--1 example, PSA 1.5--1 example, PSA 2--1 example). SGC has graded only the card offered here.
