This traditional Japanese signing board was autographed by 18 members of the Daiei Stars following the 1950 season. The Japanese language legend on the shikishi states that it commemorates the Matsuyama Winter Season Practice. 1950 was the first season that Japan Pro Baseball was divided into two leagues, and the Stars, members of the Pacific League, finished in third place. While the Stars were practically bereft of Japan Hall of Fame members in 1950, they still counted on an aging Victor Starffin to take his regular turn on the mound as part of their rotation. Starffin's signature appears both in English and in Japanese katakana.

The second image for this lot has a number superimposed near each signature so the player can be readily identified. The players who autographed the shikishi are as follows:

1) Sadayoshi Fujimoto (HOF) (manager)
2) Isao Koba
3) Masumi Isegawa
4) Giichi Hayashi
5) Yoshiharu Ogawa
6) Masao Sakazawa
7) Victor Starffin
