This
is only the second Junzo Sekine autographed item that we have ever offered to
the public. What makes it most special
is that Sekine autographed a rookie card, and he is most likely to have signed
it during his rookie season. The card is
signed in blue ink.
Junzo
Sekine was a Japan Hall of Famer as a pitcher, outfielder, manager and
commentator. His entire 16-year career as an active player was spent with the
usually lowly Kintetsu Buffaloes (previously Kintetsu Pearls), where he won 65
games and had 1,137 hits. The slight (5' 7", 145 lb.) lefthander
ultimately gained his greatest fame as an analyst on Japan Pro Baseball
television programs.
