Only a few years ago, we discovered that the card offered here was part of the JBR 31 set.  The image was taken during Joe DiMaggio and Lefty O’Doul’s trip to Japan in November 1950. 

The card contains the legend “DiMaggio—Outfielder” and O’Doul—Manager” printed on the front in Japanese by the manufacturer.  DiMaggio is featured wearing his trademark New York Yankees jersey and O’Doul, who is a member of the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame, is wearing a suit, with baseball bats on his shoulder.  

While we have offered this card occasionally in the past, this is our first opportunity to present a new example in nearly eight years.
