We have seen this card only once before. Fumio Fujimura seems to be smiling as he enters foul territory to field a hot grounder. The card itself certainly has an unusual design, as a wreath of yellow leaves borders the card, with a bow at bottom. The card was originally a 1st prize winner card associated with an unknown bromide set.
In 1950 Mr. Tigers belted 39 homers, drove in 146 runs and led the Central League in batting with a .362 average, but his Osaka Tigers struggled to a fourth place finish. His 1950 performance followed his MVP 1949 season when he batted .332 with 46 homers and 142 RBI in only 137 games.
