This is one of the earlier Sadaharu Oh home run tickets known in the hobby. Oh's career got off to a slow start, so few tickets from games in which Oh homered were saved. It wasn't until 1962 that his home run frequency picked up. In fact, by the end of 1961, Oh had homered only 37 times in three seasons. Therefore, we rarely see Oh home run tickets issued before 1962.

This ticket was printed for the game of September 20, 1961 played between the Yomiuri Giants and Chunichi Dragons at Korakuen Stadium. On that day, Oh slugged his 11th home run of the season and 35th of his career against Dragons pitcher, Shigetaka Nishio.

Condition: The ticket is torn neatly along the perforations and would grade Ex/Mt or Nm, except that a former owner wrote "Giants - Chunichi" in pen at lower right.
