This full, unused ticket admits the bearer to the Japan Pro Baseball games of 9/12/38 played at Koshien Stadium. One of the games was a contest between the Tokyo Giants and Hankyu. On the mound for the Giants was hulking right hander, Victor Starffin. Starffin won an incredible 42 games in 1939 to lead the league. This total is even more incredible because the entire season consisted of only 96 games! Starffin appeared as either a starter or reliever in 68 of the contests. Surprisingly, his 458 1/3 innings pitched and 68 games played was exceeded that season by Hall of Famer Jiro Noguchi, who threw 459 innings over 69 appearances. In this encounter, Starffin and the Giants defeated the Hankyu team by a score of 10-7, with Starffin picking up the victory over Hankyu pitcher, Mitsuhiko Ishida.

Also on the triple bill that day was a game between Nankai and the Osaka Tigers, won by Nankai 10-6, with winning pitcher Yoshikichi Miyaguchi defeating Isamu Kinoshita. The other game saw Nagoya defeat the Eagles 7-1 behind Sakae Shigeri. The losing pitcher was Tadashi Kameda. The Giants went on to win the pennant that year, with the Tigers finishing second. Nagoya came in 6th, and the Eagles brought up the rear in the nine team league.
