The Yomiuri Giants wore the exact same home and road uniforms every year from 1961 to 1974. Moreover, there is no date of issue printed on this card. Therefore, we do not know the exact year in which this heretofore unseen card was produced. From Oh's facial appearance, we believe that the card was issued sometime between 1965 and 1969, but that is merely a guess.

This unique card appears to have originally been issued as a furoku (bonus) in an unknown publication, as the top border has absolutely no wear and appears to have been sliced off of another item, such as the binding of a magazine. Insert cards attached to the interior of magazines were commonly seen during the 1960s and 1970s.

The card, printed on thin cardboard stock, is entitled "Color Bromide" on the first line of text within the bottom border. The information within the border includes Sadaharu Oh's name, height, weight, birth date, birthplace, and his current address! Can you imagine a card printed today with a superstar's address on it???

In any case, this is a unique, large, full color card of the world's all time greatest slugger. Blank backed card.

Size: 4 1/4" x 5 7/8"

Condition: Ex. The card appears to have been cut from magazine binding along the top border.
