A member of Japan's 500 home run club, Yamamoto is the all time greatest player for the Hiroshima Carp, and possibly the best center fielder in Central League history. Yamamoto was the leader of the Carp "Red Helmet" dynasty of the 1970s. He won 10 consecutive Golden Gloves and hit an astounding 14 homers in All Star games. Yamamoto has signed this shikishi (traditional Japanese signing board) with a black marker, and has included "Carp" and his uniform number (8).
