The 1922 U.S. All Star Tour of Japan has been largely overlooked, especially in comparison to the 1931 and 1934 Tours. However, the Tour did include Hall of Famers Casey Stengel, Herb Pennock, Waite Hoyt and George Kelly. The
team played 17 games against top Japanese opposition, winning 16 times. This photo was taken outside the Tokyo Oriental Hotel, where the team stayed. All the players plus various Tour dignitaries are pictured. As can be seen in the i,
close-up of the player portion of the photo, the image is quite sharp. "Japan Tour 1922" and "8 1/2" x 10"" are handwritten on the otherwise blank back.
Size: 10 1/2" x 8"
Condition: Ex. Very sharp and clear image.
