Twenty-two star players are pictured on this card. The East Team introduced this uniform on 10/17/49 when they challenged the San Francisco Seals at Jingu Stadium in front of 60,000 spectators. The Seals prevailed, scoring twice in
both the 7th and 8th innings to win 4-0. Milo Candini picked up the win, with HOFer Hiroshi Nakao losing in relief of Victor Starffin (HOF), who had held the Seals without a run during the first six innings. Next, the East Team donned these
uniforms for the annual East-West All Star Series, similar to our All Star games in the U.S. It is unknown whether these uniforms were ever used again. The players are not identified on this blank backed card, but we can identify numerous
HOFers such as Victor Starffin, Tetsuharu Kawakami, Shigeru Chiba, Michio Nishizawa, Takehiko Bessho, Makoto Kozuru, Hideo Fujimoto, Kazuto Tsuruoka, Hiroshi Nakao, etc., etc.
