In 1965, the Dodgers were World Champions. The following year they defended their title in the World Series, but were swept by the Baltimore Orioles. Less than two weeks later, the Dodgers were in Japan, playing 18 games against assorted Japan Pro Baseball opposition. Led by Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston, Maury Wills, and the Davis Boys, Tommy and Willie, the Dodgers played in various venues across Japan to large, cheering crowds. This photograph album is a chronicle of that event. Not only are all the Dodger players featured in the album, but Japanese Hall of Famers and luminaries such as Sadaharu Oh, Shigeo Nagashima and Masanori Murakami (first Japanese to play in the U.S. Major Leagues) are also shown. The crystal clear 8" x 10" photos and panoramas mounted on thick stock are breathtaking. This book would be a wonderful addition to the collection of any Dodger fan, or Tour of Japan collector.
