Following the success of Wally Yonamine in 1951, several more Hawaiians made their Japan Pro Baseball debuts in 1952. Among them was Katsuji Kojima, an outfielder from Farrington High School and the Hawaii Red Sox, who played for the Osaka Tigers from 1952 to 1954. Only two different cards of Kojima have ever been discovered, and both card types are ultra rare. Fewer than five copies of this card are known to exist in the hobby. All JGA 33 cards were originally inserted into Yakyu Shonen Magazine as 20 card uncut sheets. Therefore, all single cards found in the hobby today from this set are hand cut. This rookie card would be a wonderful addition to the collection of any Hawaiian player or gaijin player collector.

Size: 1 5/8" x 2 9/16"

Condition: Hand cut diagonal border at right. Ragged hand cut border at left. Otherwise Ex/Mt.
