Kaneda is considered to be the greatest pitcher in Japanese history. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1988, Kaneda played from 1950 to 1969, mostly with the Kokutestu Swallows as well as a few seasons with the Yomiuri Giants. Playing in 130 game seasons, Kaneda won a remarkable 400 games as a pitcher. His 4,490 strikeouts rank him second only to Nolan Ryan. His 944 games is a remarkable output for a starting pitcher. Kaneda was winner of the prestigious Sawamura Award (Japan Cy Young Award) each year from 1956 through 1958. Based on the signature style and ball, we feel that the item dates from the late 1960s V9 Giants era. Signed in black marker.

Size: Regular baseball size

Condition: Signature 7 of 10. The ball is Vg/Ex.
