This is a rare Los Angeles Nippon 1931 Tour of Japan full ticket. While we have previously offered ticket stubs on occasion, this is the first full ticket we have seen. Apparently, the ticket was used, however, as it was punched by a ticket taker in the center. "Rafu Baseball Team" is written in kanji at the bottom. The Los Angeles Nippon team was a semi-pro club comprised primarily of Nisei players that barnstormed in both the U.S. and Japan. The L.A. Nippon team which toured Japan in 1931 included "Bucky Harris" McGaillard and Jimmy Horio, both of whom later became stars in the inaugural year of Japan Pro Baseball. Moreover, Horio played for the Japanese team that faced Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and the other U.S. All Stars during the fabled 1934 Japan Tour.
