Produced by the Nikko Company, this all sport boxed set of generic cards was manufactured in uncut panels of four player cards and four reading cards. We know it is a
prewar set because the top line of the title on the box was printed from right to left, a practice that was abandoned immediately after World War II. Moreover, the box
style is representative of prewar karuta sets in general. While there are several baseball themed cards in the set, the majority of cards feature a variety of other
sports. As with all karuta sets, there is a reading card for each player card, and the object of the game is to match the cards.
Size: Each uncut panel of four cards is 2" x 3".
Condition: The box is Ex/Mt. The panels are Nm/Mt with some off-center cuts made by the manufacturer.
