Lot Description  

This is such a rare issue that of the 20 cards thought to be part of the set, only 14 have been discovered to date. The set is designated as R5 in the Japanese Baseball Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition. Yoshio Yoshida's Pacific League counterpart at shortstop was Yasumitsu Toyoda. Named 1953 Rookie of the Year, Toyoda compiled a .277 lifetime average with 263 homers. He was named to the Best 9 team six times and retired in 1969.
