Sadaharu Oh needs no introduction to North American baseball fans. Prior to the influx of Japanese players in U.S. major league baseball, most fans in the Western Hemisphere knew the name of only one Japanese player. That man is Sadaharu Oh. His 868 homers, five batting titles, 13 RBI titles, two triple crowns, 15 home run titles, nine MVP awards and nine Golden Gloves are beyond Ruthian or Bondsian proportions. How great would he have been in the U.S. Major Leagues? We'll never know - just like we won't know for sure about what might have been for Josh Gibson or Cool Papa Bell. But we can say for certain that Sadaharu Oh will always be regarded as a legendary figure of baseball history. The LiLi Gum cards are quite scarce compared to most tobacco style menko and bromides of the era. There are no more than 20 copies of this card known.

Condition: Excellent but somewhat off center both left to right and top to bottom as are most Jintan Gum cards.
