Lot Description  

This card was originally affixed to a display sheet, as it was a premium to be selected by the bearer of a JBR 2 card with the number 3 stamped on the back. Many JBR 2a cards are simply enlarged versions of regular JBR 2 cards. In 1950, Starffin, coming off a league leading 27 win season in 1949, slumped to an 11 - 15 record. However, the great Russian player who also had a .237 lifetime batting average, managed to hit .333 in 1950.
