This is the first time we have ever encountered this card. The top line of Japanese text indicates that this card depicts Daiei Stars pitcher Victor Starffin who attended Asahikawa Middle School. The second line indicates that it is a prize produced by a magazine called Manga (comics) and Reading Material and lists the name of the publishing company. 1949 was Starffin’s last great season. Beginning in 1950 his effectiveness diminished, but his 303 wins and 2.09 lifetime ERA are testaments to his greatness. Blank backed.
