Lot Description  

Starffin is pictured wearing a uniform of the Daiei Stars that was used only in 1949 and 1950, hence the estimated date of 1950 for this card. One of the amazing facts regarding Starffin’s pitching career is that he posted a sub 2.00 ERA in every season from 1937 through 1946. From 1939 to 1944, his ERA never exceeded 1.20! In 1940 he won a whopping 41 games with a 0.97 ERA.
