This baseball is of great historic importance. Japanese professional baseball's inaugural season was 1936. Seven teams took part in the first spring season, which consisted of a series of tournaments. At the conclusion, the Tokyo Senators were victorious. The Senators won 14 of 18 games, and were champions of the spring tournaments held at Koshien, Narumi and Takarazuka. They had nine wins and one loss in these contests.

This baseball contains 16 signatures including Japan HOFers Hisanori Karita and Saburo Yokozawa, who appear side by side on the same panel. Other players included are both brothers of Saburo Yokozawa, Shiro and Shichiro, Teruhiko Takahashi, Ken Onuki, Mitsuo Kitaura, Shigezo Ishihara, Shinichi Nakamura, Sotaro Iemura, Fumikazu Yamazaki and five others.
