This poster is an advertisement for an over-the-counter “medical” liquid produced by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. called King Shiro. According to the ad, King Shiro can be used to cure fatigue, hangover, liver disease, neuralgia, and inadequate vegetable intake. The title of the ad is Build Up Your Stamina. The baseball player seen promoting the product is none other than “Mr. Baseball,” Shigeo Nagashima. Sadly, King Shiro is no longer produced. However, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. still exists today.
