The postcard on the left was inserted into an issue of the children's magazine, Shonen Gaho (Youth Pictorial). Tetsuharu Kawakami is seen wearing a style of uniform worn by Yomiuri Giants players from 1947 to 1950. This is only the second time we have had the privilege of auctioning an example of this postcard. The first time was 22 years ago! The postcard on the right was produced by an unknown source. It pictures Kawakami wearing a Giants uniform worn only in 1951 and 1952.

Size: Shonen Gaho postcard--3 1/2" x 5 1/2". Right hand image postcard--3 3/8" x 5 3/8".

Condition: Both postcards are unused. The Shonen Gaho postcard has a wavy top border from having been cut out of a magazine. There is some dirt on the lower left part of the address side. The image side appears Nm or better. The other postcard image side is Ex/Mt. The address side contains more dirt than the other postcard and also exhibits darkening at the top border.
