The JF 25 Fujiya Caramel Premium set has been assigned a scarcity factor of R5 in Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 4.0, indicating that five or fewer examples of each card in the set are known to exist in the hobby. We know of only three examples of the Katsuya Nomura card.

Katsuya Nomura was a powerful catcher who played for 26 seasons in Japan Pro Baseball. He can easily claim to be the second best power hitter in history behind Sadaharu Oh. His 657 home runs, 1,988 RBIs, and 2,901 hits, are all the second highest totals ever posted. Nomura was also a top notch defensive catcher. Following his career as an active player, Nomura became an extremely successful manager, guiding the Yakult Swallows to three Japan Series titles. The autograph is a facsimile that is part of the card.
