Apparently, the Shueisha company produced these cards, which were distributed in at least two different ways. One version of the set was used by the Jintan Food Company in conjunction with Jintan ON Chewing Gum (ON referring to Sadaharu Oh and Shigeo Nagashima). The set also appeared as an uncut sheet in the May 1968 issue of Shonen Book magazine. This uncut sheet represents the complete Jintan ON version. It is the first complete uncut sheet of JGA 137 that we have ever offered. The set has been assigned a scarcity factor of R5 in Japanese Baseball Cards, Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 4.0, indicating that five or fewer copies are known of each card.

The list of Japan Hall of Fame and Golden Players Club members offered in the set is spectacular: Sadaharu Oh (5 different cards), Shigeo Nagashima (5 diff.), Masaichi Kaneda, Tetsuharu Kawakami, Masahiko Mori, Isao Shibata (4 diff.), Tsuneo Horiuchi, Shigeru Makino, Katsumi Shiraishi and Motoshi Fujita. In addition, the joker is a cartoon rendering of Oh and Nagashima.

Many of these cards would likely be graded quite high if they were to be detached from the sheet and submitted to a third party grading company.
