Tokuro Konishi (1896-1977) was an outfielder for Meiji University in the early 20th century. However, his greatest fame came from being a Japan Pro Baseball manager, umpire and announcer. In 1950 he won the Central League pennant as manager of the Shochiku Robins, but lost the first modern Japan Series to the Mainichi Orions. In 1955 he began a long and successful career broadcasting baseball for the NHK network. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1971. This shikishi was signed with a calligraphy brush. Konishi sketched an outline of his head.  He also dated the item (3/16/65).
