Regular Glico Caramel cards from the early 1950s are incredibly scarce, with each issue carrying a designation of R5 in Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 3.0, meaning that five or fewer examples of each card exist. Premium cards from these issues, like this lot, are even scarcer.

This attractive colorized card contains a facsimile signature of the Tigers' all time great. In addition to his excellent hitting, Fujimura was quite the character at times. He loved the movies and even had bit parts in three films. A very superstitious man, he never shaved before games and wouldn't hurt insects, believing that either of these actions would activate a hitting slump!
