We have occasionally offered a different giant sized card with the same image, but that card is printed in color and in horizontal format. However, this is the first time we have ever been able to offer an example of this vertically oriented giant B&W premium card.

After the 1950 season, Joe DiMaggio visited Japan. During that visit, DiMaggio met Kawakami and convinced the Japanese slugger to concentrate more on line drives than home runs. Kawakami took the Yankee Clipper's advice, and in 1951 he batted .377, striking out only six times in 422 plate appearances. For his efforts, Kawakami was named Central League MVP.

Blank back card.

Size: 7 3/8" x 10 1/2"

Condition: Good. There is excess paper and glue across the blank back, as the card was originally offered for sale on a product display sheet. All copies of this card are expected to have the same type of residue on the back.
