We have had the privilege of offering one of these cards at auction only once before (11 years ago). This example is in much nicer condition than the previous one. Starffin was a member of the All Japan team during both of the two most important U.S. Tours of Japan--the 1934 Babe Ruth All Star Tour, and the 1949 San Francisco Seals Tour. He is seen here with former New York Giants standout hurler, Cliff Melton, who at the time was 37 years old and in the process of winding down his career with the Seals. This card was issued as a premium originally attached to a display sheet. Therefore, there is some paper and glue residue attached to the blank back. All examples of this card will exhibit such residue.
