The JK 21 Karuta card set was given to purchasers of the January 1954 issue of Omoshiro Book magazine (published in December 1953). The set came packaged in a box which contained uncut blocks of four cards, which were to be cut into single cards. This set is notable in that the box housing the game contains a small colorized photo of Babe Ruth.

Here, we offer simply the box, and not the actual karuta cards. Several Japan Pro Baseball stars are also pictured on the box including Tetsuharu Kawakami (HOF), Noboru Aota (HOF) and Masayasu Kaneda.

Condition: The box is torn in several spots, not affecting the Babe Ruth photo image.
