Sugoroku is a dice game played on a paper game "board". This sugoroku has 21 squares, many with realistic looking color drawings of Japan Pro Baseball stars. With each roll of the dice, a player's piece is moved around the board until he or she reaches the center and is declared the winner. Sugoroku depicting various themes (not just baseball) were quite popular, especially during the late 1940s and early 1950s. This sugoroku was never used. The artwork on the piece is spectacular. Japan Hall of Famers represented here include (with square number): 1. Hiroshi Oshita, 4. Noboru Aota, 6. Tetsuharu Kawakami, 8 Michio Nishizawa, 11. Kaoru Betto, 13. Fumio Fujimura, 15. Takehiko Bessho, 20. Victor Starffin. Center square: Betto & Kawakami. This lot includes the sugoroku cover which features a large image of Tetsuharu Kawakami.
