This shikishi (traditional Japanese autograph board) was signed on April 1, 2017 by superstar Shohei at the start of his final season in Japan. At the time, he was 22 years old, and was coming off a marvelous 2016 season in which he had batted .322 with an OPS of 1.004 and 22 homers in 382 at bats. On the hill, he had gone 10-4 with a microscopic 1.88 ERA. In 2017, he was beset by injury, but that didn't stop the Los Angeles Angels from bringing him Stateside for 2018. And you know the rest.
After 35 years of experience, we pride ourselves at being Japanese autograph experts. A Prestige Collectibles LOA will accompany this item.
