We believe this a postcard size bromide baseball card and not merely a photo because, despite the fact that it contains no text, it is printed on the paper stock generally used for bromide cards. This is the team that faced the San Francisco Seals on three occasions during their 1949 Tour of Japan.
Several players that we can see clearly on the card include Japan Hall of Fame Members Victor Starffin, Tetsuharu Kawakami, Hideo Fujimoto, Katsumi Shiraishi, Michio Nishizawa, Hiroshi Oshita, Shigeru Chiba, Takehiko Bessho and Noboru Aota. We're confident that a closer inspection would yield several more HOFers.
This card is an important memento of one of the first postwar peacetime cultural exchanges between the U.S. and Japan. Blank back.
Size: 5 7/16" x 3 3/4"
Condition: Good, primarily because of rounded corners, but the player images are sharp.
