Recently, we uncovered a small cache of bromides from a set for which we had never seen a single example.  The grouping consisted of over 50 cards with numerous doubles.  This set will appear in the next edition of Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide.

We offer here a set that consists of one copy of each card discovered to date.  Is it a complete set?  We don’t know, but we assume that the entire set, cannot consist of more than 20 to 25 subjects at most, and it may be limited to just the 16 cards in this lot.

Cards depicting Japan Hall of Fame members are as follows: Noboru Aota. Noboru Aota & Takehiko Bessho, Atsushi Aramaki (Rookie), Takehiko Bessho, Kaoru Betto, Shigeru Chiba, Tetsuharu Kawakami, Sadao Kondo, Shigeru Mizuhara and Hiroshi Oshita.

The text on these blank backed cards consists solely of the player’s surname printed in Japanese.  Nearly all of the cards were printed with oversized bottom borders.  The winner of this lot will own a unique set (or near set) of cards.

Size:  Each card is approximately 2” x 3”

Condition:  In general, nearly all cards would range from Ex to Nm/Mt, except that they all exhibit a slight curl when removed from their Card Saver II holders.  Moreover, six of the cards have the number “8” printed in ink by a previous owner on the back of these blank back cards in the upper left corner, including Betto and Aramaki.  Nevertheless, all borders, corners, gloss and clarity are quite nice.
