This card was originally a third prize winning card from a display sheet. This is only the second time we have had the pleasure of offering a JBR 9a Starffin card at auction. In 1950, Starffin, coming off a league leading 27 win season in 1949, slumped to an 11-15 record. However the great Russian star, who also compiled a .237 lifetime batting average, did manage to hit .333 that season, while approaching his 300th victory on the mound.
Blank back card
